“Hope Made A Way”

A memoir of my journey of triumph against adversities & inequalities.
She walks the streets of New York and other countries like she walked the slums of Nairobi growing up. She knows the depths of poverty, the scars of abuse inflicted at a tender age, the trials of teenage motherhood, the unbearable loss of a child, and the agony of living with an abusive partner. As if it wasn't enough, she got diagnosed with a chronic condition all before she was 21 years old.
But now, she stands tall as a beacon of resilience and triumph. Leading a successful community-based organization, serving on influential boards, and speaking alongside renowned figures in global health. Her dedication being to empower girls and women across Africa.

In this easy-to-read memoir, Lucy chronicles some very deep experiences that include sexual abuse as a little girl, her determination to get an education despite seemingly insurmountable challenges, physical and financial abuse from her partner, leaving a toxic marriage.
Lucy bares it all in this book. It is a book about hope, about change, about resilience, about love, about knowing that God can use anyone, no matter who they are or what they think about themselves, to create change.

When you think of memoirs of 20-30 year olds, you wonder what such a young life has to write about. This relatively short story, is a well articulated journey from humble background through pain, joy, and  motherhood, to a global stage. Hope and determination are powerful forces.

I too had to sit with my thoughts for a very long time after reading this book. How can a person go through what Lucy went through and stand up to write her story? I cannot thank you enough Lucy for sharing this. Keep Rising!
